I do not really support the idea that sharing food from the same plate or sharing drink from the same cup increases fraternity and/or friendship. It is just unhygienic.
In India people even share spoons at times, and this has its roots in the caste system or rather, its refutation. People, in order to prove that they did not practice caste-ism, began this practice and then this became a sign of fraternity/friendship.
The same goes true about sharing clothes too. There are people who either wear others’ clothes or force others to wear their clothes in order to increase closeness. It is again risky and unhygienic unless you are needy.
